Well hi there! I’m Lauren – welcome to my kitchen.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved being in the kitchen. From playing restaurant as a kid to now being the restaurant for my own kids – it’s always been my favorite room in the house. Except when there are dishes to be done. That part is not my favorite. Who’s with me??
Over the past several years, a few life changes and bumps in the road with my own personal health journey have given me a new respect for my body, and have turned my love for cooking into a passion for health and wellness. Having children has also been a huge eye-opener for me in terms of what our “food” is made of. We only get one body in this life. It is so important to take care of it, so that it can take care of you. Really knowing what you are putting into your body (and the bodies of the little ones we love so much) and how it may serve, or not serve you is step one.
I’m a total food nerd and I love learning about different foods, and how they nourish me or make me feel. If I’m reading a book in my free time (free time? Ha, who are we kidding….), it’s a food or nutrition related book. I love grocery shopping, perusing different stores to find new foods, label reading, and discovering new/alternative ways to upgrade recipes that are old favorites with higher quality, more nutrient-dense ingredients.
I see so many people struggling with their health, or with how to eat “right” or “healthy.” They think they are doing everything right, but aren’t seeing the results they want, or just plain don’t feel well most of the time. So, a few years ago, I decided to take my passion to the next level and became a Certified Health Coach, with the goal of empowering others to listen to their bodies and improve their health through food because the truth is: eating healthy does not have to be so gosh darn hard.
Let’s face it: life is busy. But I’m a firm believer that being busy does not mean you should have to sacrifice your health for convenience. That is why I LOVE these meal prep workshops. Let me take one less stress or “to do” out of your day. I’ll do your planning and shopping, and even clean up your prep mess! I can’t wait to show you how feeding yourself and your family healthy meals can be delicious, easy, convenient, and fun!
